Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh
laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth Rs.25 crore on 23 September in Sangrah Town of Sirmaur district. The chief minister
laid the stone for the construction of the Mini-Secretariat building at Sangrah
town to be built with an outlay of Rs. 7.07 crore
and inaugurated the building of a government College there constructed at a
cost of about Rs. 16 crore.
He also inaugurated a water supply scheme in Sangrah completed with Rs. 2 crore. The scheme will benefit over 4,200 people. The Chief Minister made various announcements, including upgrade of Nohra Dhar Sub-tehsil to tehsil, Tehsil status for Dadahu, Science and commerce classes at Government College in Sangrah, opening of Block elementary Education office at Sangrah, opening of HPSEB electrical Subdivision and 33-KV Substation at Sangrah and provision of adequate financial assistance to Rajana-Maina-Baunal irrigation schemes.
Virbhadra Singh said his government was committed to provide quality education. "Currently, there are 94 government colleges, including five Sanskrit colleges, in the state. He expressed happiness over the increasing strength of girl students in colleges and 67% girls in Sangrah College. CPS HPPWD Vinay Kumar, Congress Leaders of area and other Citizens of Sangrah Subdivision gave a warm welcome to CM and presented him Traditional Sirmouri Weapon Dangra in Public assembly. Chief Minister addressed a massive rally on Sangrah Helipad and about 8000 people of area participated in congregation.
