Traditional Folk Music Dhakuli <kdqyh has been played since hundreds of year in Sangrah Development Block (Tran- Giri area) of Himachal Pradesh. It has been performed during Chaetr month of Vikrami Year (March/April) to Pray the Lord Shiwa , Shirgul, Vijat and Gon Devta etc. Melodies and Attractive music of Dhakuli is played on a Traditional Musical interment Dhakuli Baja (Special small Drum) with the help of bamboo a stick and single finger. Jodi (Two persons) of a special community called Dhakulaye are sing hundreds year old folk song on the music of Dhakuli. Bali Visawti, Bharathari Gatha, Jiniya Redu, Bini Haar, Bharot and Thundu etc. folk or religious song are performs by Dhakuli artist during Chetr/Choich month . Dhakuli artist Manga Ram, Surat Sing, Rajender and Balveer tolled that new generation is not taking interest in this music and now they performs voluntarily only for Lord/God in different villages. Now there are only about 100 Dhakuli artists in Tran-Giri/Giripar area or state who performs the Folk Music in Chetr month every year. To protect or preserve Traditional Folk Music Dhakuli for next generations concerned Originations, Government Departments or NGO should take step. Sangrah is a Beautiful Town, Green Valley and Tehsil HQ of District Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh. Government Degree College Sangrah, Tehsil Office, BDO, HDO, ADO, BSNL Exchange, Police Station, Old House of National Awarded Kinkri Devi, Rawlagarh Fort, Jawga Hils, Jawga Helipad, Bhagwan Parshuram ITC, Brah Forest, Lord Vijat and Shiva Temple are the main attraction/Place of Sangrah. There are 41 Gram Panchayats in Sangrah Development Block and Tehsil. About 21 Panchayats of Sangrah Block has been covered with the Snow during winter season. Population of Sangrah Bhoj/Area is about 6,000 and height is 6,700 Feet. Budechhu, Dhakuli, Nati, Geeh, Thoda Fight and Purua are the Famous Folk Dance of this area.
